parvatasan ( पर्वतासान) Seated Mountain Pose

Parvatasan ( The mountain pose )

This seat is also known as 'Vyogasan'.  This is because yoga activity is mainly done in this posture.  This seat should be done by healthy people. When we do this pose our body posture is look like mountain that's why it's called mountain pose.


Advantages

- As you have to put both hands up in this posture, the breathing speed is higher.
- While doing this posture, you should perform sun-bhut pranayama or Anuloam-villom pranayam regularly for fifteen to fifteen minutes.  It eliminates lung, stomach and spinal cord disorders,
- This posture provides good exercise for the muscles of the hand.




How to

- First Padmasana should be done. 
-  Then plams of both hand join together
- Then gently lift both hands in the same position  - Then hold them tight.  
- Many people sit in a state of virasan ;  But sitting in the state of Padmasana is more beneficial.
